Exceptional exhibits from Berlin’s Museum Island to be presented at the History Museum of Armenia

Starting September 22, the History Museum of Armenia will host the exceptional international exhibition “Myths, Cults and Cosmology: Berlin’s Museum Island at the History Museum of Armenia.” Organized to mark the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia and the 200th anniversary of Berlin’s Museum Island, the exhibition will serve as a significant platform for cultural dialogue, institutional memory, and the mutual reinterpretation of the collections of two important museum centers.

Ahead of the exhibition’s opening, a press conference was held today at the History Museum of Armenia. The speakers were Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Claudia Busch; Director of the History Museum of Armenia Davit Poghosyan; and Matthias Wemhoff, Director of the Museum of Prehistory and Early History of Berlin’s Museum Island.

According to Zhanna Andreasyan, it is symbolic that the new exhibition, opening on the occasion of Armenia’s Independence Day, is being organized within the framework of international cooperation and with the participation of renowned museums. Armenian cultural heritage is presented in the context of global cultural heritage, while international exhibitions provide an opportunity to explore the connections, commonalities, and interactions between different cultures, contributing to the enhancement of the quality of museum activities in Armenia.
